Hilary Nauman - Self Identified

Labels can be really difficult. Things like wife, daughter, woman, those are easy and obvious but when it comes to "Artist" I have a hard time. I am not sure why, because not only do I create but people buy my creations. Strangers. Strangers buy things I make just for the thing itself and what it makes them feel. But I still avoid the word. I make things. Or, I draw, I paint, I make little sculptures as if the size, if left off and later discovered, would nullify the use of the word sculpture. I am an artist. I make art. I need to get comfortable wearing that around. ART
